MAKEUP BASICS- FOUNDATION PART 2

I'm back again with the Part 2 of Foundation. If you missed the first part click here  .Today I'll enlighten you on the types of Foundation coverage and finish.

                       TYPES OF FOUNDATION COVERAGE

SHEER COVERAGE: This gives you a transparent and natural look,it contains the least amount of pigment and does not hide discoloration.

LIGHT COVERAGE: This covers unevenness and hides blemishes.

MEDIUM COVERAGE: A medium coverage foundation when set with powder covers discoloration,freckles and marks left behind from pimple.

FULL COVERAGE: This is used to cover birth marks, scars, and yoruba tribal marks (running away).

                         TYPES OF FOUNDATION FINISH

MATTE FINISH: This gives a smooth feeling with no shine or dewy appearance. it helps control excess shine and is perfect for oily skin. It usually comes in water based or oil free liquid foundation.

SATIN FINISH: This is the most common foundation finish. It doesn't shine,it comes between matte and dewy. It gives the face a soft healthy glow.

DEWY FINISH: This works best on normal or dry skin because it adds moisture, it is not suitable for oily skin.Mostly seen on the faces of models.

That's all for foundation. Always remember to use foundations with SPF . Pick a shade of foundation that suits your skin type/ tone. Tell the vendor to test it on your jawline to confirm and also in natural light.

MAKEUP BASIC -FACE -FOUNDATION

Been a while and am sorry about that. Just recovering from malaria, couldn't help but think of you my sweeties.

Today I'll bring to you a continuation of Makeup basics and I'll talk about foundation.

A Foundation is a skin coloured cosmetic applied to the face to create an even,uniform colour to the complexion, to cover flaws and sometimes to change the natural skin tone. It is available in different types ,shades,coverage and for different skin types.

         TYPES OF FOUNDATION

LIQUID FOUNDATION : This is a liquid water based formula containing sunscreen and vitamin E. It is the most popular and easily found, It applies smoothly and gives light to full coverage.

CREAM FOUNDATION: This foundation is suitable for mature skin and also works great for dry skin it gives a full coverage and lasts longer.

TINTED MOISTURISER: This is suitable for people that don't need a lot of coverage but want to even out their skin tone. It adds a hint of colour while softening the skin. To know more about tinted moisturiser click here

CREME TO POWDER: This type of foundation is very suitable for those with oily skin. It is a two in one cream foundation that dries to a powder finish. Most people don't use powder on it.

STICK FOUNDATION: They are full coverage foundations and help cover scars and imperfections. It is not suitable for daily use because it is too thick. A good example is Black Opal stick foundation.

MINERAL FOUNDATION: This foundation has few ingredients and is perfect for those with allergies or sensitive skin. It comes in a powder form and is most times used alone.

I'm sure you now know the different types of foundation .In the part two I'll talk about different foundation coverage and finishes.

MAKEUP BASICS -MOISTURISER AND PRIMER

Its Friday yaaaay... Cheers to the weekend... The new series is finally here

I'll start with the Face,will give detailed information of the various makeup products used on the face.

 MoisturiserS and Primers  are top on the List. they are used to prepare the face for makeup.

Moisturisers are designed to make the external layers of the skin softer,they counter dryness and increase the skins hydration.

It is a mixture of oil and water and retains water in the outer level of the skin and gives you that youthful glow. Moisturisers with SPF are highly recommended

	A face primer is a base for makeup/ foundation,Primers minimize pores and helps makeup last longer, it pampers the skin and creates a protective barrier , The primer is applied after moisturiser. There are different primers for different skin types, Oily/ combination skin needs mattyfying or Oil/ shine control primer. Dry skin needs a Moisturising Primer We also have Silicone Based Primer.  Examples of face primers are : Mac Prep and Prime, Laura Mercier Foundation Primer, Revlon Beyond Natural smoothing Primer and FM Silicon Base.

NEW SERIES : MAKEUP BASICS

The weekend is here again .Hope your making good use of it .

Today i will introduce my first series,its a very long one but i promise to break it down and make you understand every bit.

 Ladies Love makeup, we need makeup to hide spots,to cover blemishes,add color to our faces, brighten up our faces the list is endless. We just Love makeup but most Ladies don't know what they should have in their makeup bags and purses. These items are called Makeup Basics.

   Makeup Basics are the compulsory and necessary makeup products a lady needs for her everyday look. I shared them into three major and two minor parts.

The three major parts:

FACE: Moisturiser ,Primer, Concealer ,Foundation,Blush,Bronzer and Powder. 

EYES: Eyebrow pencil,Eyeshadow,Eyeliner and Mascara

LIPS: Lip balm,Lip gloss Lip stick and Lip stains. 

The two minor parts

TOOLS: Brushes,Tweezers,Scissors and Sharpener

STORAGE:  Makeup bags and purses.

I'll take them bit by bit ,the face will be really long but promise not to bore you
